"Scrapped To Travel"

After being inspired by the Travel Journal I made for Isabelle, I decided I would scrap our California trip as we went along.   I purchased a recycled sketchbook from Barnes and Noble.  I love the fact that the paper inside is brown kraft, but it is very lightweight.  The sketchbook came with 60 pages inside.  There is no way i would fill that much, so to make the paper thicker and less pages i glued( or should i say glue runner, im just loving AC's new this to that adhesive line) two pages to each other, making a total of 30 pages.  And to fill my urge to want to scrap in it, I decorated the cover and title page.  Now can this trip start so i can finish it.   I also put together a little travel pack of goodies: this to that adhesive, glue stick, embellishments, blank tags, Remarks letters, rub-ons, etc... so i can scrap as i go.  I still need to pick up a pair of baby fingernail scissors (you can only bring on blunt type on the plane) and a small plastic ruler.  All i will have to do when i return home is print pictures  and adhere them in the book.  Trip scrapping is complete.

Supplies: Martha Stewart Travel paper pack, AC remarks JFK neutral, The girls' paperie travel paper cuts.

Updated (8/2/10):  Well I only managed to get one page done (on the plane ride there) while on the trip.  So I will be spending the next week printing pics and finishing the journal as an album.

Updated (8/4/10): This is as far as I have gotten, so many pics....Hope to finish the rest over the weekend, scrapping plans on saturday.

Christmas in July

My July Kit from Studio Calico arrived today.  This is why i love kit clubs it takes the guess work out of shopping for supplies and it all coordinates together beautifully.  I always order the extra patterned paper in case the need for double layouts with matching backgrounds and the extra colored cardstock because it expands the kit to make many more layouts.  This time I also added on these o so cute button clear stamps and some basic twine.  I can't wait to start creating some layouts with this cute kit.  Its traveled themed so it will be great to scrap those numerous pics i plan on taking durning our vacation in a couple of weeks.

Gettin Ready to Vacation....

As our big vacation approaches, my family is getting all the last minute details taken care of.   I decided to do something fun and creative to pass along the days.  The result is a Travel Journal for Isabelle.  We all know how hard it is to keep kids occupied while traveling, well i've found the solution.  I simply took a composition notebook i found at the dollar store and altered it.  It includes fun and games for the plane, car and in between, a journal for the cruise and disneyland and plenty of extra room for autographs(cause we all know we will spend majority of the time waiting in line for characters), doodles and whatever may spark an 8 year olds interest.  I used American Crafts Travel Line.  It was perfect to turn this into a keep your busy, predesigned scrapbook.   When we get back all we have to do is print the pictures and glue them in.  The internet had plenty of paper travel games along with journaling prompts for cruise and disneyland.

Supplies: American Crafts Travel patterned paper, Thickers Subway black, Subway accents Aqua & Red, Remarks Station accents, Landmark journal, airport journal, JFK Neutral 1
