Summer Challenges @ a Crop!

My LSS (Memory Mania), is hosting a list of "Summer Challenges".  Each week we are given a new challenge with specific critieria, ex: supply, theme, etc.  You get a stamp for each submitted layout and as long as you complete at least 4 layouts you get invited to a "End of Summer Crop".  6 stamps gets your name in a drawing for $50 drawing.  I completed the 3 next challenges at the night crop held this past friday.  Here are my entries:

Challenge:  Create a layout using the Bazzill pleats

My favorite part of this layout was getting to use my silhouette to cut out the raygun and alien.

 Used two strands of ribbon and some buttons along with a gluber to create the embellishment.

Funny story behind this layout.   I ran across the two left pictures while i was completing one of the photo assignments from BPC's "Finding Photo Freedom" class I am currently taking.  These pictures were taken back in 2006 on the 4th of July.  On the 4th of this year, Isabelle came outside to swim and she was wearing  a star spangled swimsuit again.  I showed her the pictures I found and we decided to recreate them.  Noah was quite as excited!  It's hard to believe how fast they grow up but 5 yrs makes a big difference.

Crafty Update

Just some recent craft projects:

"Operation Write Home" - My LSS, "Memory Mania" is participating in We R Memory Keepers "Operation Write Home" project.  I don't normally make a lot of cards but this project helped use of some of my scraps and play around with my new Silhouette SD.  Here are a few cards I put together....

Following on the 4th of July theme,  I've been doing some crafty decorating.  Most of the stuff has been up since Memorial Day.

Toy Story 3 in 3D

For our outing Tatianna and I went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D.  I have to say I had a great time but at one point in the movie I started think "this isn't going to end well".  How could disney produce such a sad movie.  Then all ends well!  Anyway the movie was great and we had a awesome time.
